Happy Birthday CRP!

Windermere Railway Station

The Oxenholme-Windermere railway line celebrates its first year as a Community Rail Partnership. Known as the Lakes Line, the CRP aims to invigorate the line by seeking to increase passenger numbers, engage the local community, and find imaginative ways to work with local business.

The project officer for the Lakes Line CRP is Emma Aylett. "It's been wonderful working with my local line, especially since the recent investment by TransPennine means that we now have a brand new fleet of trains and a refurbished Windermere Station. I am always looking for ideas on how to work with the line for the benefit of the local community and would really like to hear your suggestions".

New for 2007 will be a book of walks from the line, a real ale trail and a new website. Watch out for events during June when Friends of the Lake District will be running a sustainable travel month.
