Lengthsman

Cumbria County Council has obtained funding for a 12-month pilot scheme for Parish and Town Councils to employ a lengthsman to help keep the area clean and tidy. Windermere Town Council and Lakes Parish council have been selected to jointly employ a lengthsman to cover Windermere, Bowness , Ambleside and Grasmere. South Lakes Development Trust is administering the pilot scheme on behalf of the two parishes and the lengthsman has now been appointed. This is a project which Windermere Town Council has been keen to get involved with for some time and all those involved are delighted that it is now underway. More news in future issues.
