Free Admission to Abbot Hall for Young People

Young people up to the age of 18 and students in full-time education up to the age of 25 can now enjoy free admission to Abbot Hall in Kendal. As Jeanette Edgar explains, “In order to widen our appeal and develop new ways to engage with young people, we are giving them free admission. By doing so we hope to increase visits to the gallery by all young people, not just those who study art at school.”

The initiative is funded by The Lakeland Arts Trust which is an independent charity. They are currently hosting an exhibition of the work of Prunella Clough, one of the most significant British painters of the post-war period, who devoted her career to finding beauty in unconsidered aspects of the urban and industrial landscape.
