Goodbye and Hello!

Penny Henderson, Headteacher at Goodly Dale School since September 2000, retired at the end of December 2007. Penny was an enthusiastic, successful, committed and caring Headteacher, under whose leadership the school has thrived.

At numerous events in the last few weeks of the Autumn term pupils, parents, staff and governors thanked Penny and showed their appreciation and praise for her achievements.

In January, the Goodly Dale community was delighted to welcome Maggie Cole, formerly Acting Headteacher at Dale Street School, Ulverston, as their new Headteacher.

Maggie is looking forward to the challenge of continuing the strong leadership of the previous Head; and to ensuring that Goodly Dale continues to thrive. She is already getting to know the children and is keen to foster strong links with parents and the local community.
