- No to world heritage site. No 1 priority is the provision of adequate , clean toilets. Visitors need adequate facilities after traveling long distances. Litter still problem . More co-operation from SLDC over routine maintenance of existing facilities. Park and Ride facilities at economic rates at 'Braithwaite Fold' to promote tourism. Respond
- Our public toilets are so not cleaned - until they are unpleasant to use. They should be paid for by the user. Respond
- Toilets are Glebe important. Pavements a hazard for partially sighted. Respond
- Somebody should take responsibility for the toilets, which are fairly neglected. Respond
- Public toilets are necessary but most people would be prepared to pay if it meant clean toilets. Pavements in town centre have to steep angles at crossings etc - dangerous for those who are unsteady. Respond
- Toilets open on Glebe and cleaned (both). More seats. Drinking fountain re-installed. Respond
- Toilets - not always inspected often enough and toilet on Glebe car park should be re-opened. Pavements - the new pavements are going to be dangerous in winter. Local materials should have been used. Parks - I go into Queens Park every day and usually end up picking up loads of rubbish left from the evening before. More police patrolling at night needed. Respond
- Town council to facilitate retention and improvement of the loos in partnership with local businesses. Respond
- The problems with toilets is that no one has a statutory duty to provide public toilets. Now other districts are funding it economically necessary to close toilets (visit Eden & Carlisle). Would it be possible to lobby Government to change the law so that one level of Government or another is responsible. Town is to be congratulated on the Floral displays. Respond
- Glebe road toilets are a disgrace and a source of grave embarrassment, when the thousand a day visitors (not unusual) loudly complain. There is land adjacent to enlarge and modernise and a 20p (Turnstile and resident attendant should be in place) use a PF1 if necessary. Respond
- Toilets in Glebe Road to be opened especially for tourists (shops should contribute to maintenance). Respond
- Charge for toilets - if people have to pay for something they take more care of it. Replace some street lights with those that come on when there is a movement. Respond
- How can a leading tourist area not have good toilet facilities? Why are the ones at the side of Booths not open? People coming in on a train and more so on a bus need a toilet there. Where are the nearest ones to the bus and railway station? All toilets should be open. Money spent on them would be better than on CCTV. Respond
- Re-open glebe toilets at car park. Respond
- Glebe car park toilets need re-opening. Respond
- Toilets - more required. Signage - exiting signs should be cleaned more often. Pavements - obstruction by 'A' Boards. Respond
- There are no toilets on Queens Park. Respond
- Glebe road toilets re-open. Improve condition of other toilets. Respond
- Toilets need cleaning more often and maintained properly, Respond
- There is little point in having planters in Crescent Road if the plants receive no care. Asking an adjoining shop keeper if they could not water. I was told 'not on principle'. Toilets should be available throughout the year. Respond
- Public Realm enhancement should start with provision of sufficient clean and available public toilets. Visitors and locals require these facilities as a priority. Respond
- Less but better equipped toilets that meet the needs of all including holiday makers. These signs this causes too much clutter and confusion. Make sure that all signs used by both SLDC and CCC are the same. Respond
- Toilets - better signage. More toilets in Bowness - use existing building on Glebe. Re-furbish charge and keep spotlessly clean. Staffed appropriately. Toilets re-opened by Booths and refurbished ditto charge and keep clean. No signs front shops (A boards) etc on pavements to trip up blind people. Respond
- Too many signs. Toilets are disgusting in Windermere. Watering of plants not often enough. Pavements are a disgrace and when reported are only patched up with a bit of tarmac which doesn't last. Respond
- Toilets - all open please especially on the Glebe. Floral displays - ever nice. Water fountains - where are they? Yes please at Bowness. Respond
- Toilets - They are a disgrace. Not one to mend the other. Visitors must be disgusted. I have known people use the toilets at the carvery on the glebe. Respond
- All should be open in place of the 2 million visitors and often finding difficulty locating one. Finance - for the toilets should be supplemented by the central funds. Sewage system requires enlarging due to the 2 million population explosion in Summer. Pavements are too uneven for the blind and aged. Crescent Road/Lake Road traffic lights have no warning sounds for the blind. Respond
- Signs - please can we have a nice new sign for Queen's Park - I've been asking for years. Toilets - are disgusting - I wouldn't visit them even if I was busting. Pavements - new ones uneven and puddle very quickly. Respond
- Toilets - employ a person to clean and change all users. Will lead to cleaner environment. Signage - should be clean and placed so that drivers don't see sign as an obstruction. Lighting - street lighting on A591 - Bantering. Respond
- Re-open toilets on Bowness prom. Keep Baddeley clock toilets open all year. Improve signage re traffic flows in Windermere Centre. Get more 'A' Boards off pavements. Re-open toilets near station. Respond
- Lock the toilets at night. Better signage - park facilities, railway station. Parks - better management for library gardens and car park - cut back vegetation and better lighting. Unsightly and unkempt telephone exchange is there an uglier building in Lakeland? Respond
- Toilets need to be kept open and modernized and staffed. Signs from shops should not be left on the pavements, due to many blind and disabled visiting Bowness-on-Windermere. Respond
- Toilets - reinstate toilets at the Glebe. Signage - insufficient signage on approach to village of Windermere's 'roundabout'. Cars still turning right coming out of Booth's - inadequately signed. Pavements - contrasting levels of pavement in Windermere - accidents waiting to happen! Respond
- Windermere - toilets about the Glebe - closed. Why especially during June/August? Respond
- Tolets on the Glebe - not enough facilities when 'events' are on e.g air show or circus show. Respond
- Toilets - Glebe Road - rebuild. Pay attendants and supervise. Respond
- Youth Club on Queens Park. Large wooden hut with toilet and café. Something like 60 x 60 feet. Respond
- Toilets - I think signs on toilet doors saying 'these toilets are closed' are ridiculous. If the toilet signs were removed then visitors wouldn't know what they were missing. Signage - much of it is tatty and needs clearing or replacement. Lighting - don't want any more, as this is a rural area. Respond
- Public toilets are essential - where do visitors go otherwise? The new Windermere pavements are so uneven. Wrong materials used. There are too many signs/adverts too distracting. Ensure lighting directed down, not skywards. Respond
- Parks - develop a children's park equivalent to Windermere. Floral displays good but cement containers in Ellerthwaite Square. Oh dear! Pavements - Council street cleaner. Toilets - Main Bowness Glebe Road be opened and developed. Lighting of side roads to be upgraded. Respond
- Glebe Road Toilets at the car park - a non existing facility, looks unsightly and wants demolishing and new modern block built. Surely it is a tainted view of Bowness - not to have adequate toilets. Respond
- Pavements are dangerous in places. Toilets need care. Signage - too many irrelevant ones. Need cleaning. Too many bits and pieces of metal around Windermere shops. Pavements and cobbles dangerous. Respond
- Toilets - need better cleaning and need upgrading/rebuild of most toilets. Get hotels/pubs to open toilets to the public. Signage - signs need cleaning. Floral displays - should be sponsored by businesses. Respond
- Toilets - charge '50p 2 pee) and install fancy new ones. Signage - clean 'em'! Florals - more of 'em'. Parks are good ((I think) Good flower beds are well tended. Respond
