- No to world heritage site. No 1 priority is the provision of adequate , clean toilets. Visitors need adequate facilities after traveling long distances. Litter still problem . More co-operation from SLDC over routine maintenance of existing facilities. Park and Ride facilities at economic rates at 'Braithwaite Fold' to promote tourism. Respond
- Derelict land is lying wasted,. i.e. the old garden centre. It would make a nice housing development for starter homes and at the front Car Parking for local businesses for staff - leaving valuable short stay nearer the village. Respond
- Police in Windermere - how can visitors park safely in Windermere when vandals are allowed to damage cars and because of their age nothing is done. Respond
- Clamp down on anti social behaviour. Mobile CCTV to hot spots. Parking enforcement. Police to visit more schools. Active youth centres for those who cannot afford to take their children to expensive clubs or subsidise. Respond
- Cars parking in Windermere village causes tailbacks. Make disabled parking only. Respond
- Green transport. Use the Lake for transport between Bowness/Lakeside/'Ambleside. Possible park and ride scheme. Parking charges to be changed. Respond
- The junction needs sorting at A591, a roundabout if possible. The holdups through village are worse now with the mini roundabout. Take it out and reverse traffic in Beech Street. Remove the bend outside Sharps which pushes the S bound traffic out into the other lane, dangerous when a lorry. Parking - why not have disc parking, like Ambleside does. Respond
- Reduced parking fee for locals. Particularly for short stays. Maybe free for first half hour with a parking disc? Respond
- Parking should be free to local residents. Highways - better signing on the new roundabout at the top of Crescent Road. Bring back road sweepers and drain cleaners. Empty public bins more often. Trains - better connection between main line trains at Oxenholme and local line to Windermere. Respond
- I think the developments in Windermere are good. They are wrongly blamed for congestion. The congestion is due to two principle factors (a) vehicles taking too long to get into parking spaces and (b) failure to use the roundabout properly. Respond
- Our road surfaces are poor with many potholes. The parking spaces aren't enough. The train and bus times don’t co-ordinate, The community line could be a winner. I would still prefer to live here than any where else. Respond
- There is sufficient parking in Windermere (only occasssionally is Broad Street full) But it is far too expensive. Should reduce charges. Respond
- Parking - we should have cheaper parking. For residents or free even for the Windermere Community. Transport - why do we have this silly expensive electronic sign at the bottom of Bannerigg surely people can see the bends ahead. The new enhanced Crescent Road is a complete disaster. Respond
- Parking of large flower lorries when offloading. These lorries need to be adapted so that they can deliver flowers on to the pavement side rather than opening on to the road (or from the back). Very dangerous to passing traffic. Respond
- Parking - toll required to pay for totally inadequate public parking. Highways - poor inefficient usage of signs e.g 30mph then 20mph - 30 yards later. Public Transport - bus along Droomer greatly appreciated. Respond
- Parking - very important to have passes for residents who live 2 or 3 miles from the centre of Windermere. Object paying for parking when I'm paying rates. Respond
- Please put more traffic wardens on the streets of the village. Parking is still abused and the new traffic road system has just made it worse. Get rid of the roundabout at the Queens before someone is killed. What public Transport? Respond
- Car parking on Birthwaite Road much more traffic than when cars first started to park. Very dangerous for Pedestrians. Respond
- More visible parking needed and parking for locally employed. Difficulty with roundabout at top of Main Street - people also make 2 lanes on the road coming down from Booths and often both want to turn right on r/h for Ambleside - dangerous. Lots of pot holes need filling in or our roads resurfaced. Respond
- No more double yellow lines. Keep plenty of free parking. Develop existing car parks. Make sure all new developments in traffic lights and roundabouts are well advertised. Advertise the use of station by tourists. Respond
- More frequent bus transport from Windermere to Bowness in Winter time. Parking - charge weekly passes at fixed price. Fewer wardens required and happier visitors. Free on Sundays to park in Windermere. Respond

- Safe crossing areas for school children, Park Road, Park Avenue, Fire Station area. Parking on corners of roads at busy junctions. Priority at new roundabout must be given to the Kendal side. Lights at Trout beck Bridge should be timed for busy periods to get traffic away. Respond
- Free or cheaper car parking for the visitors. Or free Sunday parking. Respond
- Review town centre traffic to improve flow. Parking charges are ridiculous for such a local area, dearer than Kendal. Ripping off tourists and locals alike. Bus fares are to high. Cheaper in most cases for people to use taxis if in a group. Encourage us of train facilities to ensure its survival and links with the outside world. Respond
- More off road parking plus free parking to encourage workers to park out of town. Park and Ride. Oak St an Broad St to be made one way. Free bus two to three times per week to Booth's etc for all. Residents parking permits. Subsidised rail travel for residents. Park on alternate side of the road to clean easily. Respond
- We need more parking but where? The old garden centre could be used until it is r-developed. Ellerthwaite Square could have nose in parking with very little re-design. Respond
- Parking in Windermere is not adequate. Respond
- Mini roundabout at Lake Road/Rayrigg Road needs repainting and monitoring to stop drivers going round wrong way or straight over. Have some free short stay places on car parks. Respond

- The Main Road Roundabout. Parking in Windermere. Crossing the road in Bowness, Respond
- Parking in Birthwaite Road. This is a road without lighting and pavements. To walk up the road is dangerous to walk on the grass is dirty and slippery. Respond
- Some form of identification parking pass for locals to park for longer than 1 hour when doing their shopping/banking etc. Standing in queues takes can be so unpredictable especially in the post office and bank. This would stop people getting unnecessary parking fines. Respond
- Why are there double yellow lines outside the Co-op in Oak Street? As nobody takes a blind bit of notice of them. Respond
- Make parking charges more reasonable for local employees and give a monthly parking permit instead of an annual one. Respond
- Parking of big lorries (double lines) outside of Co-op. Signs which indicate times when unloading/loading take place has been removed - It must be replaced as unattended parking causes a traffic hazard. Respond
- Parking should be free - not sufficient for the numbers visiting Windermere. Traffic - should be diverted via Rayrigg Road to avoid congestion. Only visitors interested Windermere should be encouraged. Bus service at weekends and more bus services to Bowness. Respond
- Parking - more parking in Bowness and Windermere. Also charges are too high. Disability spaces in Windermere are used by all and sundry. - Problems with parking along Rayrigg Road (Bowness end) causing congestion and obstructions, double yellow lines needed, Pedestrian crossing areas in Crescent Road need to be removed and replaced by smooth tarmac road surface. A591 junction needs totally revising - entry and exit across traffic entering village is dangerous and will cause accidents. Local residents should get 1 hour free parking in Broad Street car park to encourage use of local shops. Respond
- The parking on New Road pavements (particularly this week on each side of the road) particularly of tradesmen's vans etc. Respond
- Constant loss of parking space as short access to shops/services. Return bottom of Victoria Road to its original procedure and ability to right turn. Before evening Crescent Road and traffic from Elleray to give way. Respond
- Residents parking - should be available to all residents of the village. On street parking should only be banned where it causes a safety hazard to maximise free parking. Respond
- Queues to get into Windermere from A591 and Booths since mini roundabout. Since more cars parked outside houses - 2-way traffic on some streets quite difficult. Suggest 1-way system around Thornthwaite and Limethwaite for instance. Respond
