- Consistently the problem of transport raises its head. Not only is bus transport the most expensive in the country but statistics show us that 20% (or perhaps more/of the households in the area have no car of their own). Why is the cost from Kendal to Barrow so much lower than the cost from Kendal to Ambleside.. Respond
- Our road surfaces are poor with many potholes. The parking spaces aren't enough. The train and bus times don’t co-ordinate, The community line could be a winner. I would still prefer to live here than any where else. Respond
- Better train/bus timetable at the station. Respond
- Parking - toll required to pay for totally inadequate public parking. Highways - poor inefficient usage of signs e.g 30mph then 20mph - 30 yards later. Public Transport - bus along Droomer greatly appreciated. Respond
- 418 Bus - Bowness to Kendal only 2 days per week! Increase frequency to assist outlying villages. e.g hotel staff on route. Respond
- Transport - bus and trains far too expensive. Would be used more if cheaper and trains more frequent say Manchester, Airport, Preston etc. Respond
- Local bus runs just mid-day 12 noon from station along Droomer up to Windermere Park via Bowness. Could this be extended into the afternoon for local elderly people? Respond
- More off road parking plus free parking to encourage workers to park out of town. Park and Ride. Oak St an Broad St to be made one way. Free bus two to three times per week to Booth's etc for all. Residents parking permits. Subsidised rail travel for residents. Park on alternate side of the road to clean easily. Respond
- Public Transport - local bus to and from Bowness in the winter doesn't happen. From 2.15pm to 5.15pm there are none. Local Chef's and workers can't get home to Windermere, so have to pay for a taxi or walk. Respond
- Need for a sign indicating change of priorities at miniroundabout outside Queen's. Encouragement to people to use car park in Windermere (Broad Street). Reasonable residents permits? Free short term (1 hour) to counteract street parking. Persuade stage coach to lower fares so people will use buses. Proper provision of a connection between Braithwaite Fold Car Park and Bowness to encourage parking there. Discourage parking on Birthwaite Road. Only allow buses to exit from station yard across the traffic exiting Windermere. All other vehicles to go down Victoria Street and round miniroundabout. Respond
- Buses are too expensive for family use - visitors or locals. Gullies (!) are not cleaned properly. A very large number of gullies down Lake Road between Brook Road and Helm Road are usually blocked - even just after clearing. Also gullies out Costa Coffee and Stags Hotel. Respond
- Parking should be free - not sufficient for the numbers visiting Windermere. Traffic - should be diverted via Rayrigg Road to avoid congestion. Only visitors interested Windermere should be encouraged. Bus service at weekends and more bus services to Bowness. Respond
- Parking - more parking in Bowness and Windermere. Also charges are too high. Disability spaces in Windermere are used by all and sundry. Congestion in Windermere village - further consultation needed re possible roundabout at station. Will lights at station every be operative? Public Transport - no link up between buses/trains at Windermere rail station. Respond
- Traffic - Kendal to Windermere during the tourist season poor. The roundabout opposite the Lighthouse is poorly situated and has caused a number of accidents and should be removed. Arrangements to control traffic, Kendal to Grasmere and Windermere need to be controlled by lights. Poor parking facilities, especially June - October. Buses should be scheduled and smaller units used during periods of 10am - 3pm. Respond
- Transport - bus services very good but how do we get people out of their cars. Respond
- Parking - development o it Bowness. Clear signs for Braithwaite Fold. Buses start from Bowness, again improve publicity. Cleaner for the streets. Improved signs and clean. Respond
- Community - Why is the bus service reduced in the winter when the weather is colder. Older people can be house bound even in Bowness and Windermere. More buses would help. A Nursing Home would be an asset. Respond
