- Purchase vacant properties to rent out, local housing authority. Make sure parking and waste storage are included in any plans for new houses. Respond
- Some councils recycle envelopes and gummed spines of magazines etc. All over the UK, different materials can be taken for recycling. Why cant there be more co-ordination? Respond
- Recycling - We do not need any more and certainly don't need slop buckets or kitchen caddy's. Litter Waste - we need more rubbish bins and possibly a litter warden. Respond
- Recycling - some sort of pressure crusher needed so that plastic can be collected. Use recycling to create new energy, local finances. Litter - educate children not to drop litter in the first place. Respect the environment. Waste - Public bins should be emptied more often, perhaps more of them. Respond
- Recycling - prevention is better than cure. Stop manufacturers using so much packaging in first place. Respond
- Centralized waste bins that you take your rubbish to as in the alps. Collections could be made for the elderly. Respond
- Where does our rubbish/recycling go? How much is actually recycled? Rubbish bins should be put by all lay-bys. Respond
- Small 'blue' bins should be on wheels - can get heavy when full! Not everyone able to lift to pavement when full. Respond
- Recycle bins should have been in a more camouflage color i.e. brown/green to blend in with gardens. The bright blue look unsightly and cheap. Respond
- It's alright recycling but where does it go to be recycled? Businesses should not be allowed to use ordinary 'bottle banks' pubs etc. They are filling them up in just a few days. Troutbeck Bridge. Respond
- Better use of waste materials, which can be used as a renewable energy source. Local production of energy. The control of the local recycling sites, and the role of CCC and SLDC to look at how this can be addressed,. The vehicle which is used to collect the glass, can be quieter. Respond
- Recycling waste - more little bins needed (and emptied more often!) Dog waster! Notices and bins and emptied! Respond
- Communities to take ownership of the area in which they live. Commercial waste to be stored. Dog Fowling owners to take ownership. Cars to park on alternative sides of the roads allowing them to be cleaned. Identify which authority is responsible for what. More consultation. Respond
- Recycling is fine but if the men forget to pick up your bin or boxes they will not come back. Therefore it is a month before they are emptied. Respond
- Confirmation from SLDC as to which companies and to which destinations recycled goods are handled. What has happened to the council litter pickers. Tidy up recycling areas to increase those facilities,. It is a disgrace that organic rubbish is only collect once a fortnight, unsafe, unhygienic. Road drains should be cleared regularly (CCC responsibility). All praise to SLDC better bin empties. Respond
- Recycling bins on the ends of Main Streets. Respond
- Plastic/cardboard recycling for Broad Street Car Park. Noisy recycling bottles especially. Can the bins not be soundproofed - lid edges etc. Restaurants, Hotels -overfill skips and lids open allowing vermin and mess -legislate. Respond
- Prosecute little droppers. Booths re-cycling area should be cleaned by SLDC. Police/Support Officers visit groups in Parks. Make an example of them. Household plastic/cardboard collection. Respond

- A loyalty scheme for all businesses in the Parish. Respond
- Dog poo bags are awful - but don't know how the practice of leaving them everywhere can be stopped. Have smarter litter bins in Bowness. Have street schemes for recycling - rather than big wheelie bins for every house. Respond
- Waste - what is the problem with landfill when there are so many old quarries that could be filled up. Green waste - it is a good idea to separate out green waste. It will lead to our tips being sterile and nothing will grow on them they are filled up. We should be encouraging methane collection at tips. Respond
- Can we do more to use less energy? Can Windermere and Bowness use more green energy? I am pleased that recycling collections have improved but it could be even better e.g cardboard/plastic. And what about hotels/shops - I see too much cardboard outside. Wheelie bins are unsightly but efficient. Could they be hidden? 1 x 2 weeks is fine. Will we collect food waste for an aerobic digester. Respond
- Approve of SLDC's efforts at recycling but wheelie bins large and awkward in terraced and small properties. Include cardboard in household collections. Parish 'lengthsman' to keep parks and hedges etc clear of rubbish. Strict enforcement of fly tipping penalties. Strict enforcement of dog fouling regulations. Respond
- Education of children - all ages in the benefits of recycling, starting with reduction of packaging - i.e reduce, re-use, recycle. Some doorstep collection could be bags, rather than boxes and wheelie bins,. Need to be able to recycle food waste doorstep. Need to enforce penalties for dripping litter - a few fines would make a big difference. Respond
- Less packaging would reduce recycling. A wider range of recycling e.g envelopes! Appropriate litter bins, i.e not overflowing or cleared more often. Reduce green waste dumping of pruning and hedge clippings. Respond

- In our street there are 11 properties and only 3 put out the recycling bins - what can be done about the other 8 properties. Respond

- Do campsites have recycling? Also Hotels, Restaurants, Pubs and Schools - can do a lot more for recycling. Get the guests to separate rubbish. Respond
