We get in more articles than we have space for, and although we try to fit in as many as possible there are usually some that are left out. Below are some of the articles that for whatever reason didn't make the print edition:

Grow your own - but where?
Twenty local people responded to the article in the last edition of the Hub about space to grow food. They need somewhere to grow fruit and vegetables! They are spread across Windermere and Bowness, so ideally need space fairly nearby.
A group of people is working to meet the need for space. If you can help by suggesting or offering a piece of land which might be suitable, please call Debbie on 88261/Paul on 40021. Another alternative is for people to offer unused garden space – maybe in exchange for some of the tasty fresh produce! We would love to hear from you.

Dedicated to Defeating Debris
Windermere is talking rubbish in the run-up to a week’s spring clean when lake and town will see a major trash trawl.
The annual Winderclean event takes on a new lease of life this year when the traditional day-long litter pick is replaced by a string of activities designed to galvanise communities, organisations and schools.
Joining forces for the refuse rally - to be held between 27 April and 2 May - are the Lake District National Park and Windermere Town Council, who want a combined clear-up operation.
National park area ranger Steve Tatlock said litter was not only horrible and unsightly but it had the potential to cause real harm to people and wildlife.
Two diving groups and a band of dedicated debris collectors gathered 60 bags of rubbish from around the lake last year — matched bag-for-bag by Town Council volunteers.
Lethal broken bottles and jagged cans were plucked from lake depths of between two and three metres, while land lubbers brought in an equally dismal array of discarded waste from around Windermere and Bowness.
"We have an added impetus this year," explained Steve. "The international Lakes for Living conference is being held a fortnight after our offensive and we want everything to be spick and span.
On top of that, Cumbria in Bloom is now looking well beyond pretty flowers in making its prestigious awards. If we can present a litter-free area, created by community groups, we hope it will impress judges."
Steve said that although volumes of litter did not seem to be getting worse, they were not getting any better either, despite continuous campaigns and pleas to get people to use bins, take their litter home and recycle.
He added: "It would be great to get to the stage where we didn’t have to organise Winderclean but, sadly, there’s no sign of this happening in the foreseeable future. And we have a growing problem with dog dirt in plastic bags, left hanging on trees and railings.
"We are very grateful to Environment Agency, which continues to give us invaluable support.
Lisa Greasley, of Windermere Town Council, said: "We will be letting people know exactly what we are planning a bit nearer the time, but in the meantime we would like to hear from groups or individuals prepared to lend a hand.
"It is encouraging to know that even though there are thoughtless people who discard rubbish without a second thought, there are many selfless volunteers prepared to give up time to pick it up."

Lakes Players Thanks Community
We at The Lakes Players would like to thank you all for your support during our production of Aladdin and His Magic Lamp. This year the support form the community was outstanding. We would also like to thank the Lakes School and all the local people who gave up there free time.
We are a group of local people who do this for our enjoyment and it really has made it worth while with the feed back we have had. We are always on the look out for new members to keep our group going from actors/actresses, stage crew and front of house staff so if you came to see the show and thought I would like to do something like this then why not get in touch with Gareth at Aqua 015394 45944 or Anthony at Threshers 015394 88487
Many Thanks,
The Lakes Players
